Salt Lake. Location-60 miles south of Zuni, 1,000,000 to 2,000,000 pounds of salt removed annually. Lake located on state land and operated by lessee. Lake originated from volcano crater, which apparently gives salt supply. Practically all salt used by Zunis, domestically and for stock is obtained here. Zunis conduct religious ceremonies when taking salt out of the lake. Salt sold at 30 cents per hundred pounds.
