Westley, Stanislaus County, San Joaquin, California. Migratory labor camp (F.S.A.) seen from water tower, during pea harvesting season, showing pea fields beyond. Note steel shelters, tents, trailers, and emergency community school (large tent) for migrant children. 174 families, 748 persons in camp. Sixty percent on (F.S.A.) cash relief grants. Many families have been forced to leave the government camps because labor contractors control the field work and demand that workers live in contractor camps.
